The end of innocence

St. Agatha 8th Grade Graduation 1971.

It seems like this is the time when for me the brotherhood just had a hint of starting to jell. It was cool, we were heading to High School..

Remember Wally Pivetta? He was from my neighborhood on Fenton. Him and I got busted drinking Stroh's fire brewed ale at Taft junior high school field one afternoon and I think it was celebrating 8th grade graduation! Detroit cops on scooters chased us down in the field and then proceeded to Fenton Ave to tell our parents.

In the Beginning

I first met the brothers in 1969. I was a public school kid prior to then and dreaded having to go to  Catholic school where I imagined there was midieval pain and torture from the priests and nuns. Turns out it was the beginning of a life long relationship with a amazing group of friends who I have come to love like brothers
